I'll be your mirror : A tribute to The Velvet Underground & Nico est un album audacieux présentant douze reprises hommage à l'un des plus grands groupe et album de l'histoire du rock : The Velvet Underground & Nico (1967). Chaque titre est interprété par un descendant notable de la musique du groupe : Michael Stipe (R.E.M) , Matt Berninger (The National), Sharon Van Etten, Kurt Vile, Fontaines D.C, Iggy Pop, St.Vincent et bien d'autres. La production a été supervisée par Hal Wilner, ami de Lou Reed décédé en 2020. Rassembler autant d'artistes aventureux c'est déjà se plonger dans l'aspect révolutionnaire de cet héritage. En s'appropriant chaque titre, ces artistes ont mis en pratique une des leçons que le Velvet Underground avait à enseigner : livrer un son qui vient du coeur, avec beaucoup de sincérité.
